PlayBox Neo, AI-Media Add Multilingual Captioning and Voice Translation to Broadcast Playout
PlayBox Neo has partnered with AI-Media to integrate automated captioning, translation and real-time voice translation into its broadcast playout ecosystem. The collaboration brings broadcast-quality accessibility and multilingual tools to broadcasters, universities, government organizations and corporate AV users.
Through the integration, PlayBox Neo customers gain access to AI-Media’s ALTA 2110 IP broadcast encoder and LEXI Text automated captioning. LEXI Text supports both same-language and translated captions with broadcast-grade accuracy and low latency. For pre-recorded content, LEXI Recorded can generate captions in less than half the runtime of the program. AI-Media also applies customized Topic Models to improve accuracy by recognizing industry terminology, speaker names and brand-specific language.
The partnership also introduces LEXI Voice, a new service that provides real-time translated voice output for live and on-demand content. Together, these features allow PlayBox Neo customers to expand audience reach, comply with accessibility regulations and reduce staffing or infrastructure requirements.
PlayBox Neo has already deployed AI-Media’s ALTA 2110 encoder to provide same-language and translated captions for Cheddar, a live streaming financial news network. The encoder supports SMPTE ST 2110 workflows.
All AI-Media services integrate with PlayBox Neo products including AirBox Neo playout automation, TitleBox Neo CG and the PlayBox Neo Suite platform. The company says the combined solution allows broadcasters to add multilingual captioning and voice capabilities without disrupting existing operations.
