On-Stage Production-Grade Snake Box Consolidates Four XLR Signals Into One Cable
Supports stage lighting, microphones, instruments, speakers and digital audio
Berlin, CT, November 24, 2025 — On-Stage, a leading supplier of music instruments and accessories, and brand of The Music People, has released the Snake Box, a signal-transfer solution that consolidates four XLR connections into a single ethernet cable, making it much easier — and tidier — to set up multichannel systems for the stage or studio.
While this type of device is often referred to as “audio over ethernet,” the Snake Box actually supports multiple aspects of live production and studio recording including balanced-analog audio for microphones, instruments, and speakers as well as digital protocols such as DMX and AES/EBU for controlling stage lighting and audio.
Available in male-XLR (SNK4BM) or female-XLR (SNK4BF) configurations, the Snake Box handles four separate channels and its bidirectional capability enables it to route signals in either direction to suit a wide range of systems. To block electromagnetic interference and ensure high-quality audio, the Snake Box’s RJ45 connector accepts shielded CAT 5 or greater cables. It even passes phantom power for mics.
The Snake Box doesn’t require a power source and is simple to use as there are no switches, knobs, or buttons — only inputs and outputs — plus, its compact size makes it easy to transport to and from gigs. For long-lasting, dependable performance, its rugged metal enclosure protects the internal components. For more information about the SNK4BM and SNK4BF, please visit On-Stage.com.
