Moments Lab announced the release of Moments Gateway, a lightweight application designed to connect existing on-premise storage systems with the company’s cloud-based Video Discovery Platform. The solution allows production companies, broadcasters and other media organizations to access AI-powered search tools without migrating high-resolution master files to the cloud.

Most AI-driven video discovery tools require content to be stored in the cloud, creating challenges for teams managing large archives across NAS servers, Avid Nexis systems and LTO tape. Traditional approaches often involved manual uploads or complex automation workflows.

Moments Gateway is designed to address this issue by installing alongside a customer’s storage infrastructure, where it automatically scans media, generates lightweight proxies and syncs selected files to the Moments Lab platform for AI enrichment. High-res masters remain on-premise.

Once content is synced, it is indexed using Moments Lab’s MXT multimodal AI technology. Users can then search their libraries through the Video Discovery Platform using semantic queries, targeted clip searches or conversational prompts via the Discovery Agent to find scenes, dialogue or specific visuals for new productions or content repurposing.
