Burton Coliseum Complex, Southwest Louisiana’s foremost entertainment complex has achieved a significant increase in food and refreshment sales since deploying Cabletime’s MediaStar solution to display eye-catching digital menus at concession stands throughout the venue.
The Coliseum, which is an offshoot of a parish Government project, selected MediaStar despite originally planning to use a dedicated menu board. Jason Barnes, Director at Burton Coliseum Complex, said: “The MediaStar digital signage system appealed largely because it was easy to use and it met all the requirements of the spec. As a result we have seen an immediate increase in concession sales and we believe this is due to the eye-catching, visually appealing menus.”
Cabletime installed a combination of MediaStar decoders and Media Manager software to create a versatile system that could be easily updated and managed across the complex. It serves two screens above all concession stands and displays a range of different menu options.
The Coliseum is a domed facility with multiple event configurations. Since it opened in 1977 it has hosted a huge array of events and, most recently, has been home to the State Boys and Girls High School Basketball Championships for the last two years and the Southwest District Livestock Show and Rodeo.
There are now plans to extend the MediaStar installation with the addition of more encoders that will display interactive ticket pricing at the facility’s ticket booths. Jason Barnes continued: “The rollout has been smooth, and the system is versatile. Whilst we have already seen an increase in revenues as a result of it, I anticipate that this system will continue to provide numerous b enefits for the future, not only to our facility, but also to the patrons we serve.”
The MediaStar range provides TV/AV and multimedia distribution products primarily for medium to large enterprises, which require future-proof, stable and proven solutions for live TV, corporate communications, multicasts, music TV, training and digital signage.
