Matrox Video Unveils SDK for Asynchronous Media Transport

matrox origin fabric

Matrox Video on Tuesday announced the launch of ORIGIN Fabric, a low-level C++ software development kit designed to enable asynchronous media content sharing across applications. The SDK, developed over five years and tested in live deployments, is aimed at OEMs and media software developers seeking to improve performance and interoperability without overhauling existing systems.

The new SDK is a foundational component of the Matrox ORIGIN framework but will be released as a standalone product for developers working with distributed, cloud-based or microservice-oriented environments. It allows vendor-agnostic, asynchronous media transport and offers automatic routing, multi-producer redundancy, and scalability across networks.

ORIGIN Fabric functions as a media fabric layer, delivering intelligent routing between sources and destinations via shared memory, TCP or RDMA, depending on system architecture.

Key features include automatic routing between content sources and destinations, multi-producer redundancy for continuous service during failures, and a scalable architecture that enables logical, content-based routing between disparate applications.

The SDK will be available for beta testing in September.
