LG Electronics is expanding its xboom by will.i.am portable audio lineup at CES 2026, introducing four new speaker models designed for a range of listening environments, from indoor gatherings to outdoor use.

The updated lineup builds on the company’s 2025 xboom releases and continues LG’s collaboration with artist and entrepreneur will.i.am. According to LG, the new models focus on longer battery life, ruggedized designs and added software features intended to adapt audio playback to different settings.

The expanded lineup includes the xboom Stage 501, Blast, Mini and Rock. Each model is designed for a specific use case, from large gatherings to compact, portable listening. LG said AI-based audio processing is integrated across the lineup, including features that automatically adjust sound output based on content and surroundings.

AI-driven features include automated sound adjustment that analyzes audio content and modifies equalization, as well as lighting effects that synchronize with music playback on supported models. Some speakers also include room or space calibration features designed to adapt audio performance for indoor and outdoor environments.

The xboom Stage 501 is positioned as a high-output, party-focused speaker. LG said it includes a karaoke mode that can adjust or reduce vocals in music tracks, as well as pitch control. The speaker offers a swappable battery and can operate on battery power or while plugged in, with different output levels depending on power source. The cabinet design allows for multiple placement options, including vertical, horizontal and tripod-mounted configurations.

The xboom Blast is designed for extended outdoor use and features a large internal battery for longer playback times, along with a rugged exterior intended to withstand outdoor conditions. LG said the speaker includes multiple passive radiators and integrated handles for portability.

For smaller-scale listening, LG introduced the xboom Mini, a compact cube-style speaker designed for everyday use. The Mini includes water and dust resistance, multiple mounting options and touch-based controls, according to the company.

The xboom Rock targets rugged, portable use and replaces LG’s earlier XG2 model. LG said the updated version offers increased power output, durability testing aligned with military standards and support for audio sharing across multiple compatible speakers.

The lineup also integrates FYI.RAiDiO, a platform developed with will.i.am that enables interactive features through a companion app and onboard controls. According to LG, the system is designed to provide curated audio experiences and user interaction through AI-driven tools.

Lee Jeong-seok, head of LG’s Media Entertainment Solution Company Audio Business, said portable audio remains a growth area for the company.

“As we move into 2026, portable audio will remain a key growth driver for LG, combining refined performance, AI innovation and design that reflects what consumers value most,” Lee said.

The new xboom by will.i.am speakers will be displayed at LG’s CES 2026 booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center and are expected to roll out globally in 2026.
