In one of our previous newsletters we told you all about the system integrator used by Concept Systems of Singapore that played a crucial role at the city’s Novotel satisfying their audio requirements. It was time to meet them again at the luxurious, award winning Pan Pacific hotel in Singapore. Collaborating with Sennheiser Asia, K-array’s distributor for the territory, Concept Systems supplied the five star hotel with fixed and mobile equipment in October 2013 to complement this iconic and tech heavy destination hotel.
The Atrium at Pan Pacific is strikingly elegant and modern, its unique space is filled with handmade timbre pods and tables that “float” suspended above a tropical blue pool creating a real “wow” factor reminiscent of the historic fishing villages in Singapore. To complementthe ambience, Concept Systems installed six KK100 passive, super-compact line arrays complete with two KL12 subwoofers to improve the roundness of low frequencies. They are all piloted by a KA10-10 amplifier, an excellent solution for uniform, high-quality diffusion with discreet and elegant speakers that are subtly embedded into this modern and bold environment. In addition, a Redline KR102 system, powerful and compact yet easy to move around is a genius solution for the diffusion of the entire sound range that was selected for the lounge area, even accommodating live performances.
From K-array’s catalogues, Sennheiser Asia and Concept Systems also chose the equipment and systems used for Pan Pacific’s’ legendary pool parties including the Singapore Formula 1 race organised by the fan club Massive Collective in 2013 where, it was necessary to cover a large area with accuracy, power and quality. The natural choices were four KH4’s connected to six sub KS4’s and four KO70 subs, while a KR402 system controlled the entire process.
The result? Stas Madorski, one of the most famous DJs in Singapore there on the night could hardly contain his enthusiasm. “As someone who constantly complained about why there weren’t many clubs offering Funktion-One speakers in Singapore, I’m about to change my tact and start moaning about clubs not having the gear that we played on that night. The K-array speakers used sounded very balanced despite the odd-shaped venue. Clarity at all frequencies was excellent and the bass response was great too”.
Mathias Schell, Swiss DJ and Producer who also entertainer at this prestigious event added “The sound was loud and clear throughout the entire event. Truly a great sound system to play on! Perfect ten out of ten. The event was a huge success. Everything from the stage setup to the sound system and the people who attended the party were great. I really hope that more pool parties like this one will be organised in the future!”
