Genetec Leads Global Video Surveillance Software Market, Reports Show
Genetec Inc. continues to hold the top position in the global video surveillance software market, according to new reports from research firms Omdia and Novaira Insights.
Omdia’s 2025 Video Surveillance & Analytics Database Report ranked Genetec first worldwide in video surveillance software, as well as in the broader category that combines software and Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS). The firm also placed Genetec in the top 10 globally for VSaaS, including fourth in the Americas, the largest and fastest-growing market for the service.
Regionally, Genetec held the top spot in the Americas for both video surveillance and the combined video surveillance and VSaaS categories for the 14th consecutive year. In Europe, the Middle East and Africa, it ranked second, and in Asia Pacific, third.
“The video surveillance market continues to see steady global growth, driven by rising security demands and faster adoption of new technologies,” said Scott Foley, senior analyst for physical security at Omdia. “According to our research, Genetec remains a consistent global leader … maintaining top market share and addressing customer needs with innovative products.”
Novaira Insights’ research also ranked Genetec first in total video surveillance software and service agreements and listed the company among the highest-growth vendors across hardware and software.
“The Genetec philosophy has always been to offer customers more choice, not less,” said Christian Morin, vice president of product engineering and chief security officer at Genetec. “Organizations deserve the flexibility to deploy solutions exactly the way they want … without ever being locked into proprietary systems.”
Genetec said demand for unified, cloud-based security systems is driving adoption of its Security Center SaaS platform and its Access Control as a Service offerings.
