Two new GefenPRO Extenders for HDMI over CAT5 with Power Over Line (POL) I and II offer long-range, multi-signal extension up to 100 meters over a single Cat5 cable. Gefen’s POL technology based on PoE (Power over Ethernet) standards can now deliver power to a remote location, eliminating power supplies in the viewing environment. Power is provided to the receiver unit using the 12v supply connected at the sender unit. Each receiver is also equipped with one 5v output to power supplemental hardware including scalers, switchers and distribution amps at the display location.

The GefenPRO ELR Extender for HDMI over CAT5 with POL I extends HDMI at 1080p with 3DTV, multi-channel audio, IR remote, RS-232 control and Ethernet over a single Cat5 cable. Each receiver can be wall mounted for added convenience. The GefenPRO ELR Extender for HDMI over CAT5 with POL II offers the same functionality as the GefenPRO ELR Extender for HDMI over CAT5 with POL I but supplies one additional HDMI input at the display side to enable two-source (local and remote) switching. When one source powers down, this extender will automatically switch to the alternative source.
