Disguise just raised the bar for live event visuals with the launch of X1, a portable version of its Designer software. Built for creators delivering small-to-medium concerts, theater productions and branded experiences, X1 allows users to run 4K content straight from a laptop — no proprietary media server required.

Already battle-tested at Rockfest Germany (Bullet For My Valentine), Festival Napa Valley, and Central Cee’s U.S. and Canada tour dates, Disguise says X1 is built for the real world. Creators can plug a license key into their laptop and instantly access the latest version of Designer — Disguise’s platform behind 95% of the world’s Tier 1 live shows.

X1 gives users access to:

  • The full Designer toolkit for previsualization, sequencing, and show control
  • Real-time integrations with Notch, Unreal Engine, TouchDesigner, Unity, and more via Disguise’s RenderStream protocol
  • Built-in redundancy with 1:1 failover for uninterrupted playback
  • A portable USB Codemeter key that enables 4K video output from any capable laptop
  • Easy upscaling and downscaling between Disguise servers and X1 with drag-and-drop file continuity
  • Pre-loaded, ready-to-play visuals from Disguise’s Creative Services team

Users can preview content on a 3D mini-stage replica and sequence every cue with Designer’s timeline. X1 also includes a dynamic content pack featuring exclusive Notch and TouchDesigner looks, with both real-time and pre-rendered visuals ready to go.

X1 supports open integrations with major tracking systems like Kinesys, Tait Navigator and PSN, and includes APIs for custom development.

Pricing starts at $6,000/year, with bundles and educational discounts available.
