Despite Rumors to the Contrary, Sharp Says its Not Exiting LCD Projector Market
Virtually the entire first quarter of 2009, Sharp has fought off rumors, verbally, that they were not exiting the LCD projector market — mostly generated due to their inability to ship their “C” Series projectors. Well, Sharp has finally issued a memo that puts to rest the rumors — for now. Production problems have forced Sharp, traditionally an LCD-first company, to lead with DLP until a new optical component supplier can be identified.
