No Producer? No Problem. Datavideo Brings AI, PTZ and Portable Power to NAB Show 2025

THIS IS A PROMOTED POST

I liked the VoiceTRX100 so much that I made AVNation’s Tim Albright come demo it with me!

The rAVe team is back from NAB Show! As we get back into the swing of things and prepare for InfoComm (geez, how is it mid-April already?), I want us to take a short walk down memory lane. I was lucky enough to spend some time with Datavideo while I was at the show, and it was so much fun. I frequently get to see products at the different shows I attend, but I don’t always get to demo them myself. So walk with me, talk with me, and take a look at some of the tech Datavideo had on display.

First stop: VoiceTRX100

As soon as I walked into Datavideo’s booth at NAB, my eye went to the full video podcast setup they had in the back. Complete with mics, cameras, and more, the area consistently had people sitting down and using it. But they weren’t just producing video content for fun—they were testing a Datavideo product: the VoiceTRX100. I know because I did it too.

I sat down with Datavideo’s Craig Moffat and Rob Read to talk about how the VoiceTRX100 automatically (or automagically) switches camera views to follow the speaker. That means if you’re using this in your podcast setup, you don’t need a producer — thanks to the built-in AI. Even better, this interview was recorded using the VoiceTRX100 itself.

Want to know how the whole thing works and what the setup looks like? Rob Read walks you through it here:

The PTC-600

Let’s take a closer look at one of the other products powering Datavideo’s podcast setup: the PTC-600. This new PTZ camera features 30x optical zoom, autotracking and 4K resolution. It offers a variety of input/output options, and if you watch the video below, you’ll see how it was used in the booth’s video productions.

Next stop: Mobile Cast Series

We’re not done with Datavideo’s booth just yet. Elsewhere, the company showcased a few more tools for content creation — starting with the Mobile Cast series.

Above, you’ll see the HS-2600: a portable eight-channel switcher with built-in recording and streaming. It offers full production capabilities with assignable inputs and outputs, and controls for adding lower thirds and graphics. I love how it includes a clamshell top — making it easy to pack up and take on the go, perfect for events like trade shows.

Next is the HS-4000. This system also includes built-in recording and streaming with a 4K workflow. It features a sleek, built-in touch screen to select routing sources and more. If mobile production is your thing, this one’s worth a closer look.

Final stop: Turning a Fixed Camera Into a PTZ

Yes, you read that right. With this product from Datavideo, you can transform a fixed camera into a PTZ. You get remote control over zoom, pan, and tilt, while also powering the system and the camera itself. It’s great for full production setups — but as Rob demonstrates in the video below, it’s also simple to use.

What I love about Datavideo is how much technology they integrate into every product — yet they still keep it accessible for content creators. Don’t sleep on this company. They’re making serious moves in both the AV and broadcast worlds, and I can’t wait to see what they do next.
