Daktronics Expands Data Studio to Support the Professional Hockey Marketplace
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Oct. 2, 2024 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, expands its Data Studio solution to support the NHL with a cloud-based, real-time data interface that integrates directly with Daktronics Show Control. The app, made exclusively for hockey, sources data directly from the OASIS platform, a product of Sports Media Technology (SMT) and the official stats provider of the NHL.
This solution is part of the Daktronics control solution ecosystem in Venus Control Suite. It now ensures seamless access to hockey information and data which game-day producers need to deliver engaging, memorable game-day experiences for hockey fans.
“We’re excited to expand our comprehensive stats platform to our hockey customers,” said Bill Hadsell, Daktronics control solutions product manager. “This new innovation builds upon the recent release of the same solution for college football and continues to bring dynamic storytelling capabilities to our customers. The opportunities for using this additional data and information for hockey will help bring fans closer to the action by understanding the details of what’s happening in the game.”
With Data Studio Hockey, users can leverage the data in an application crafted exclusively for them and including feeds with team records, conference and division information, situational records, team rankings, shots on goal, line scores, win streaks, and so much more.
“Bringing these data points into our control ecosystem really makes things easier for game-day operators already using our equipment,” added Hadsell. “They can incorporate visual data such as shot charts per player and heat maps or power play efficiency – the things that fans are used to seeing while at home. But, instead of sitting on their couch, fans are sitting in an energized arena with other fans enjoying these moments together while still being informed of all this information.”
