Avenview, a leading manufacturer of pro AV components, video wall and digital signage processors, has developed the first fiber-optic extenders that are capable of transmitting real 4k @ 60Hz for long distances of up to 300m. Available in HDMI or display port configurations, the Avenview fiber extenders are capable of extending real 4K (4096×2160) @ 60Hz (4:4:4) video and multi-channel audio formats to any 4K compatible screen up to 300m away. With two models available, users have the choice between HDMI or display port connections. The HDMI units are capable of extending to a distance of 200m while the display port set is capable of reaching 300m.

How it Works: Both the FO-HDM4K-200-EMIX and the FO-DP4K-300-EMIX are composed of sender and receiver units. The product’s compact box design allows it to be easily installed in any location, behind the monitor or rack mounted on a shelf. The sender unit is placed close to the source signal and is connected to that source by HDMI or display port. The receiver unit is placed near the display and is connected to that display by HDMI or display port. A single strand multi-mode SC terminated optic fiber (50/125um) connects the sender to the receiver unit. Connect power to both the sender and receiver units to allow point to point extension of the source signal to the display in real 4k @ 60Hz.

Ideal for mission critical applications where image quality and reliability are important, fiber-optic extenders ensure that the signals are shielded from interference and environmental factors that could interfere with traditional copper cabling.
