Atomos Unveils Ninja TX With 12G-SDI, New Design and Built-In Cloud Connectivity
Atomos introduced the Ninja TX, the latest addition to its Ninja monitor-recorder lineup. Unlike previous models that offered only HDMI, the Ninja TX includes both HDMI 2.0 and 12G-SDI inputs and outputs, as well as integrated Wi-Fi and AirGlu timecode technology.
The 5-inch device features a new industrial design that improves thermal efficiency, reduces weight and enhances portability. Despite its compact size, the Ninja TX adds support for CFexpress Type B media and USB-C external recording — features previously available only on larger models like the Shogun Ultra.
Built on the new AtomOS, a Linux-based operating system, the Ninja TX enables faster performance, over-the-air updates and a more streamlined user experience. It includes the full suite of monitoring tools the brand is known for, including EL ZONE false color, waveform, RGB parade and vectorscope.
The 1500-nit screen is 50% brighter than other Ninja models and designed for use in bright environments. The unit also ships with all major codecs — Apple ProRes, ProRes RAW, Avid DNx and H.265/H.264 — pre-activated, so users can begin recording immediately.
The Ninja TX supports resolutions and frame rates up to 120fps in HD, 60fps in 4K UHD/DCI and 30fps in 8K UHD/DCI, depending on the camera’s output.
With native cloud integration and 20GB of free ATOMOSphere storage, the Ninja TX allows direct upload to platforms such as Frame.io and Dropbox, or streaming via NDI 6/HX3.
