We've had a busy couple of weeks here. Last week I was at New York Digital Signage Week (
see videos here), and we had colleagues at the
Almo Pro A/V E4 Experience in Atlanta and at the Chase Center in San Francisco, where
Samsung hosted an event. Zoomtopia was going on, and we
have a lot of coverage, much of which is in this issue.
Scott Tiner has an interesting dive into new wireless technologies that we'll be seeing soon (and a bit already) — 5G and Wi-Fi 6. Check out his column to see how they are going to affect AV products and installs. Dr. Fred Ampel also talks about the choice between going cloud-based with an AV system, or sticking with traditional hardware infrastructure, a choice many tech managers and AV integrators doing work in schools will be making over the next few years.
