AMBER GIVES THE GREEN LIGHT TO URC AT ISE2014

amberinternationalUniversal Remote Control (URC) is continuing to develop its range of whole house control systems and is heading to ISE 2014, under the Amber International umbrella, to introduce an exciting selection of new products.

“Integrated Systems Europe is the world’s best-attended trade-show for the professional AV and electronic residential systems industry” comments Stuart Tickle, Managing Director of Amber International.  “Over 45,000 visitors from 140 countries are expected to attend the 2014 event, which is why URC will be exhibiting there once again with Amber International, the international master distributor. This year will feature URC’s new stand, first shown at CEDIA Expo 2013, which is being shipped across especially for the event, in recognition of the opportunity that the show presents.”

TOTAL CONTROL

URC has recently added further functionality and compatibility to its Total Control system, which now works with an increased variety of third party products and streaming services.  Following on from Extra Vegetables’ recent 2-way Sonos integration module for URC Total Control, the protocol specialist, in collaboration with URC, has created further modules for 2-way control of DIRECTV, Roku, Popcorn Hour/Popbox and Dune HD. All modules are easy to install and work with URC Accelerator, requiring minimal dealer setup. They seamlessly connect to Total Control, displaying customised graphics on URC touchpanels, remote controls and iOS Apps straight out of the box.

To support this, the URC Total Control App is now fully compatible with iOS7, the latest operating system for iDevices. This ensures that whatever version of Apple software the customer is using, they can always stay connected and be in complete control of their system.

Security plays a vital role in whole house automation these days.  URC has designed a range of surveillance cameras which can be integrated with its Total Control system.  Visitors to the Amber International booth will be able to see the new CAM-DC1 and CAM-DCO cameras, which are stylish, compact and easy-to-install. Available in two options as an unobtrusive indoor mini-dome, or a tough, vandal-proof outdoor dome camera, it can comfortably cater for every need. Offering H.264/MJPEG compression, motion detection, web-based set-up, administration, control and upgrade – the CAM-DC1 keeps in control via a 32-bit embedded CPU running Linux.

Visitors to ISE will have the chance to find out more about the new MRX-4SEN Sensor Extender and six new sensors that expand the robust power of the Total Control system and enable exciting new control possibilities. Individual sensors observe the presence of video, light, audio, current, voltage or contact closure. Status is conveyed through the compact MRX-4SEN to the MRX Advanced Network Controller to trigger actions or Macros.

The MRX-2 Network Base Station bridges the digital divide between control of the client’s legacy components and the IP network. Acting as a Total Control sub-base station, it receives commands from an MRX-10 and reissues them via IR, RS-232 or relays. Each MRX-2 includes one relay, one sensor port, two RS-232 ports and 6 IR ports. The advanced connectivity of the MRX-2 allows it to connect to virtually any device or component.

COMPLETE CONTROL

For Complete Control products, the MRX-2 can be installed independent of Total Control and operated by a smart phone or tablet using the URC CC Control Mobile. The App for Android enables control of AV devices via a Wi-Fi connection right over the local area network (LAN) that is host to the connected MRX-1 or MRX-2 Network Base station from URC. Aided by intuitive interfaces that can easily flip between portrait and landscape views, everything from setting a DVR and navigating favourite channels to controlling music and videos while moving around or from outside can be achieved.

Amber International will also be showcasing a range of new products which are being launched in Q1 of 2014. This includes the TRC-1080, a stylish and fully customisable 2-inch remote control, TRF-ZW1 Total Control Z-Wave Extender, SNP-2 Streaming Network Player, MRX-20Network Base Station and its first gyroscopic remote controls – the TRG-100 and TRG-200.
