26North Partners has announced an agreement to acquire a controlling interest in AVI-SPL, a global provider of audiovisual and unified communications technologies, from Marlin Equity Partners and other shareholders. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Marlin and select existing shareholders will retain a minority stake in the company. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2025, pending customary closing conditions.

AVI-SPL, headquartered in Tampa, is the largest AV integrator globally, operating in more than 100 countries with over 4,400 employees and more than 70 offices worldwide. The company even says they have done projects for over 86% of the Fortune 100. The company provides audio-visual integration, collaboration solutions and managed services across North America, South America, EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions.

This marks the third investment by 26North’s private equity platform, which previously acquired ArchKey Solutions and Onelife Fitness in 2024. It is the firm’s first transaction in the technology, media and telecommunications sector.

John Zettel will continue as CEO of AVI-SPL.
