InFocus to Shift Call Center to India

InFocus told company employees last week that the 30 people working in the company’s call center will lose their jobs due to a decision to contract that work to India, reported bizjournals.com. The news came five days before InFocus reported second quarter revenues Tuesday. On revenues of $97.6 million, the company posted a net loss of $12.8 million, or $0.32 per share, compared to a net loss of $16.4 million, or $0.41 per share, for the first quarter of 2006 and a net loss of $19.6 million, or $0.49 per share for the second quarter of 2005.

As of December 31, 2003, InFocus had 795 employees. The publication reported that as of this year, there are 448 employees worldwide, 227 in the Wilsonville, Oregon headquarters.
