Theory Audio Design announced the PLC Series, a new line of amplified loudspeaker controllers built with Powersoft amplification and DSP technology. The series includes four models: two 8-channel units and two 4-channel units, each designed for residential, commercial, large-venue and live sound applications.

The PLC-4K8 delivers 8×500 watts per channel, the PLC-8K8 provides 8×1,000 watts per channel, the PLC-9K4 outputs 4×2,250 watts per channel and the PLC-16K4 offers 4×4,000 watts per channel. All models fit into a 1RU form factor, combining compact design with high power density.

The PLC Series integrates Powersoft’s Class-D amplification, SmartRail energy-management power supplies, Power Factor Correction and advanced DSP. Features include ultra-low-noise converters, linear-phase FIR filters, Active Damping Control and PoE support. Theory’s proprietary loudspeaker presets are included to simplify deployment and deliver consistent, high-fidelity sound across formats and applications.

Theory said the PLC controllers are intended to provide integrators with scalable, reliable solutions for complex audio environments requiring precise control and premium sound reproduction.
