Shure CEO Chris Schyvinck to Keynote SAVe Global Conference in Los Angeles
Chris Schyvinck, president and CEO of Shure, will be a keynote speaker at the 2025 Sustainability in AV (SAVe) Global Conference, scheduled for Sept. 24-25 at UCLA’s Luskin Conference Center.
Founded in 2022, SAVe is a U.S.-based organization with a global mission to bring the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Goals to the pro AV industry. The conference will feature speakers from around the world, offering perspectives on how organizations can approach sustainability.
“We’re excited to have Chris and all of our other speakers as part of our first annual global conference,” SAVe founder and president Christina De Bono said. “Now is the time for our growing international membership to gather and harness our momentum in bringing the Sustainable Development Goals to pro AV.”
Schyvinck said Shure is “proud to be involved with this global conference where others from around the world can share best practices and ideas for a better tomorrow.”
Her keynote will highlight Shure’s sustainability initiatives, including achieving its goal of using 90% recyclable and renewable packaging for new products by the end of 2025 — a year ahead of schedule. The company has converted more than 1,500 packaging pieces to sustainable materials, including molded pulp in place of thermoform trays, reducing plastics, right-sizing packages to cut shipping emissions and joining the Sustainable Packaging Coalition.
Shure’s other efforts include:
- Recycling cardboard boxes and wooden pallets, diverting thousands of tons of material from landfills.
- Partnering with suppliers that use solar power and recycled water.
- Introducing rechargeable lithium-ion batteries for wireless microphones nearly a decade ago, a move expected to prevent more than 100 million AA batteries from reaching landfills by 2027.
- Engineering products to reduce power consumption with energy-saving modes and remote power monitoring.
The company recently published its first Corporate Sustainability Story, outlining initiatives in people and facilities, products, packaging and logistics, and community engagement.
