Plugable Launches USB-C Charge-Only Cables With 240W Support and Data Blocking
Plugable introduced three new USB-C cables designed for high-wattage charging and enhanced security by physically blocking all data lines. The USBC-CC1M (1 meter), USBC-CC2M (2 meters) and USBC-CCS5X (6-inch 5-pack) support the USB Power Delivery (PD) 3.1 Extended Power Range (EPR) standard, delivering up to 240 watts (48V/5A) for laptops, tablets, smartphones and other high-powered devices.
By omitting data functionality, the cables protect against juice jacking and other data theft threats. Each model includes an integrated E-Marker chip for safe power negotiation and features a red connector to visually indicate its charge-only function. Cable tags detail specifications for quick identification by IT teams and end users.
The 1-meter cable is suited for travel and enterprise deployments, the 2-meter model offers extended reach for classrooms and conference rooms, and the five-pack of 6-inch cables is designed for secure charging stations in shared spaces. All three use TPE overmold construction for durability, ship in eco-conscious packaging, and are backed by a two-year limited warranty.
The USBC-CC1M, USBC-CC2M and USBC-CCS5X are available now from Plugable and Amazon at MSRPs of $14.95, $15.95 and $24.95, with an introductory 20% discount.
