Panasonic Licenses Pro:Idiom Digital Rights Management System for Hospitality Plasmas
Panasonic announced the company has licensed the Pro:Idiom Digital Rights Management system for use with the company’s plasma displays for hotels and resorts. Panasonic says the products will be available by year end.
The Pro:Idiom system was developed specifically for lodging. It protects satellite-delivered HD programming and video-on-demand content against piracy at all points in the distribution chain, including the television.
Panasonic developed the plug-in card Pro:Idiom solution for its line of specially designed high-definition plasma displays for hoteliers. The card can also support Panasonic’s professional displays, including Panasonic’s new 50” and 65” native 1920 x 1080p full HD resolution professional displays.. The slot architecture allows the hotel to equip the panel with a Pro:Idiom-enhanced tuner board compatible with major Video On Demand/Pay Per View systems and provide guests with access to a wide variety of HD content.
