From Action to Interaction: Insta360 Brings Its Camera Tech to the Meeting Room
THIS IS A PROMOTED POST
So you think you know Insta360. You might! The company was founded in 2015 with the idea of sharing immersive experiences with anyone in the world — and it built a name for itself in the action camera space. But in today’s world, immersive camera technology isn’t just for your next adventure. It belongs in the meeting room, too. Insta360 is making moves in hybrid collaboration, and here’s a look at what the company has been up to.
Insta360 Connect
Insta360 Connect is an all-in-one video bar with dual 4K cameras and a 14-microphone array, designed for small and medium-sized meeting rooms. It’s powered by AI-driven tracking technology — using the same kind of intelligence Insta360 is known for, but optimized for the workplace.
One standout feature is AI Resolution+, which uses machine learning to sharpen image quality and detail for whoever is speaking. Another is 8K Gallery Mode, which gives up to eight participants their own video tile so remote attendees can clearly see and hear each person — without the dreaded “conference table fishbowl” view.
And if you want a full-room view, Connect can do that, too. What makes it shine, though, is Group Framing. Whether there are two people in the room or eight, the camera automatically adjusts so the in-room participants stay the focus. No wasted space, no awkward framing.
Other features include:
- 33-foot Voice Pickup — thanks to its 14-microphone array, Connect can capture voices clearly from up to 33 feet away, ensuring everyone in the room is heard without raising their voice.
- Speaker Tracking — Connect uses sound location detection, intelligent voiceprint, face, body and lip recognition technology to precisely track the speaker and keep them center stage as they speak.
- Adaptive Audio — Crystal-clear audio with adaptive real-time acoustic environment analysis to remove background noise and reverb.
- Whiteboard Mode — Built-in mode to square off and enhance whiteboard demonstration, the content is kept invisible even if someone blocks the camera.
Insta360 Link 2 Series
The Link 2 Series includes two AI-powered 4K webcams: the Link 2 and the Link 2C. Both bring Insta360’s camera expertise to your desktop, with the Link 2 adding a two-axis gimbal for even more flexibility.
One of the biggest wins here is low-light performance. The 1/2’’ sensor delivers vibrant, high-dynamic-range images even in dimly lit rooms (perfect for anyone working from an apartment that doesn’t get much natural light — like mine).
If you like to move around while presenting, the AI can automatically adjust depth of field in real time based on your distance from the camera. The Link 2’s gimbal can pan and tilt to follow your movements, with custom boundary settings so it doesn’t wander too far. It’s the kind of functionality you’d normally only see in an enterprise-level PTZ camera — now sitting on top of your monitor.
Other features include:
- Deskview Mode — tilt down to capture your desk, like a document camera.
- Whiteboard Mode — optimize and square off whiteboard content for clarity.
- Portrait Mode — rotate to shoot vertical content in uncropped 4K.
- Smart Control — adjust settings via your mobile device.
- Virtual Background Options — including “Natural Bokeh.” Powered by AI, it identifies people and automatically adjusts depth of field in real time, creating a DSLR-like image with a natural, professional blur.
Insta360 Wave
The last thing missing from this rockstar lineup is a professional-grade speakerphone — Insta360 released the Insta360 Wave Thursday, Sept. 25, to complete this full suite of meeting room products.
Insta360 Wave comes with an integrated AI recording suite, a levitating design, an 8-microphone 3D array, advanced AI-powered noise cancellation and dereverberation, and seamless integration with the simultaneously launched Insta360 InSight AI meeting assistant. (InSight is a newly released AI transcription and meeting assistant software that can transcribe up to 99 languages, identify/label speakers, build smart summaries and more.)
You’re probably wondering if it integrates with the products I told you about earlier — it does! Insta360 Wave works with the Link 2 AI webcam I mentioned earlier. All you have to do is mount Link 2 on top of Wave for a complete video-and-audio setup with synchronized controls.

Insta360 may be best known for action cameras, but now the company is channeling that same creativity into videoconferencing. If hybrid work is your reality, don’t skip over Insta360 — its lineup is designed to keep you sharp, seen and connected.
