BenQ Now Shipping RP551+ Interactive Multitouch Panel

phpiD5WqsAMCOSTA MESA, Calif. — Oct. 23, 2014 — BenQ America Corp., an internationally renowned provider of visual display solutions and the No. 1-selling DLP® projector brand in The Americas(1), today announced it is now shipping its all-new RP551+ interactive flat-panel display (IFP). Ideal for creating more collaborative environments in corporate, education, and interactive information settings, the 55-inch panel offers multiplatform support, six-point multitouch capabilities, and both DisplayNote and EZ Suite software to make signage more intuitive for today’s content-led applications.

Featuring 1920 x 1080 FHD capabilities, BenQ’s new RP551+ IFP is equipped with advanced six-point multitouch technology to provide students, teachers, and corporate professionals with incredibly receptive tactile navigation. Users simply touch the screen to activate responsive panning, zooming, and scrolling — exactly like a tablet. Now with multiplatform support, the LED device is compatible with major operating systems such as Windows®, Mac®, Linux®, and Chrome®, allowing the panel to connect and operate seamlessly with a wide range of computing and mobile devices using the simplicity of plug-and-play.

“The RP551+ is part of BenQ’s comprehensive series of interactive flat panels that seek to make onscreen navigation as seamless as using any handheld device,” said Bob Wudeck, Associate Vice President, Strategy and Business Development at BenQ America Corp. “Engineered with six interactive touch points, the RP551+ allows users to experience more receptive screen response, creating fluid navigation essential for any successful boardroom presentation or classroom lesson plan. Designed to clock-in at least 50,000 hours, the ultra-bright display brings customers a valuable balance between cost-effectiveness, innovation, and performance-based engineering.”

To make the panel extremely easy to manage, the RP551+ is equipped with BenQ’s Multiple Display Administrator (MDA) software which allows administrators and IT managers to simplify panel operations and maintenance by easily adjusting content scheduling, on/off powering, and remote monitoring and control — regardless of system configuration. MDA also works in real time, tracking the voltage and temperature of multiple panels in order to protect displays while automatically sending email alerts should anomalies arise. For end users, the panel’s DisplayNote software facilitates real-time collaboration across multiple computing and smart devices by allowing participants to stream content directly to the screen. Using the software’s Wireless Desktop Control feature, speakers can mirror and wirelessly control a PC from anywhere in the room to create even more presentation flexibility.

For learners and presentation participants, the IFP’s EZ Suite software features convenient WiFi® display capabilities to connect digital content direct from any computing, smart device, or cloud storage source. Equipped with a Quad Split Screen feature, the software supports cross-platform split-screen display capabilities from up to four input sources — allowing teachers, students, and boardroom members to share content and collaborate at a touch of the fingertips. Flexibility is further enhanced thanks to USB and HDMI® plug-ins, and a microphone jack available directly on the front panel while two 12W speakers provide the audio power needed to complement any visual application.

Shining at 350 nits of brightness, the interactive display provides a minimum of 50,000 usage hours while the unit’s anti-glare glass reduces onscreen reflections to eliminate any visual noise caused by glare. To adjust brightness automatically based on surrounding light levels, the RP551+ features ambient light sensors which can reduce power consumption by up to 50 percent. To increase viewer comfort even further, the panel provides low blue light technology which automatically reduces blue spectrum light emission in order to minimize the effects of visual fatigue.

The RP551+ is now shipping in North America. More information the product can be found at www.BenQ.us/product/DigitalSignage/RP551plus. For information on the full line of BenQ products, visit www.BenQ.us.
