BenQ has launched the BR9708, a 4K projector designed for dark rides, immersive attractions and themed environments that require cinema-grade color and contrast at a lower price point. The projector was introduced at IAAPA Expo 2025 and targets operators seeking to replace aging lamp-based or low-contrast units with a model capable of delivering theatrical realism.

The BR9708 offers 100% DCI-P3 color coverage and a 1200:1 native contrast ratio, enabling more accurate shadow detail, natural tones and deep blacks without filters or complex calibration. BenQ said the projector provides a more affordable option for attractions where lifelike visual accuracy is essential.

Priced under $10,000, the BR9708 includes several specifications aimed at themed entertainment applications. It delivers true 4K UHD resolution with 8.3 million pixels, factory-calibrated color accuracy with Delta E below 2, and uniform color performance across multiple projectors for blended or mapped displays. The unit also supports 50 percent vertical and 35 percent horizontal lens shift, centered alignment, 360-degree installation and automated blending adjustments for multi-projector arrays.

“Attractions shouldn’t have to compromise between realism and affordability, and until now, achieving true cinema-grade realism meant spending tens of thousands of dollars per projector,” said Bob Wudeck, senior director at BenQ. “The BR9708 changes that, delivering the visual power of much higher priced projectors at an investment level that opens the door for regional parks, family entertainment centers, and creative studios.”

BenQ said the BR9708 is built for continuous operation with dust resistance and factory calibration to reduce maintenance needs. The projector is available now through the company’s authorized AV integration partners.
