AOPEN has launched the DE5150, a compact industrial PC designed to bring AI-enabled processing to the edge for applications in smart retail, logistics, public systems and industrial automation. The system is built around Intel’s 15th Gen Core Ultra Arrow Lake-U/H processors and includes an integrated NPU capable of up to 92 TOPS, enabling it to handle real-time analytics and multimedia workloads directly where data is generated.

The DE5150 supports up to 96GB of DDR5 memory and features Intel Arc 130/140T graphics, making it suitable for dual 4K content playback in digital signage deployments. AOPEN says the fan-cooled system is engineered for continuous 24/7 operation and includes AT Power Mode with auto power-on, eliminating the need for an RTC battery.

In retail environments, the DE5150 can power AI-driven analytics and dynamic customer engagement tools. For smart city applications such as kiosks, transportation systems and surveillance, the system processes data locally to reduce latency and bandwidth demands. In industrial automation, its multiple COM ports and dual LAN connections allow integration with PLCs and sensors, while its -20 to 50 degree Celsius operating range supports reliable performance in harsh environments.

Logistics and warehousing applications can leverage the system’s AI acceleration for parcel recognition, routing and real-time monitoring. The unit’s compact size also makes it a fit for self-service kiosks, including ticketing and check-in systems, where auto power-on ensures devices resume operation automatically after outages.

Key features include dual HDMI 2.1 outputs, rich I/O with multiple serial ports, TPM 2.0 hardware-level security and a compact, rugged housing suitable for industrial and public installations. AOPEN positions the DE5150 as a secure and versatile option for organizations deploying connected, automated workflows across edge locations.
