ACT Entertainment announced it will be showcasing the Sterling Vermin, the latest RAT brand effects pedal, at the 2026 NAMM show. The company describes the new pedal as a new take on RAT’s sound, blending heritage tone with modern refinement.

Components include low-gain tones that are reminiscent of a Klon or Bluesbreaker, and high-gain settings similar to those of Big Muff pedals. Users can toggle between settings with the LM741 Op-Amp and a pair of selectable clipping diodes, producing a punchy, midrange bite or the BAT41 for a more balanced response.

“The Sterling Vermin embodies what RAT has always stood for: character, creativity and great tone, now with a boutique approach that emphasizes feel and craftsmanship,” said Shawn Wells, market manager, sound, ACT Entertainment, who designed the pedal along with his colleague Matt Gates. “It’s meant for players who appreciate the nuance in their sound and the detail in their gear.”

The pedal also features CTS pots and oversized knobs designed to give users better control over their sound. The company said the design of the pedal is meant to merge the pedal’s vintage flavor and striking design.

The pedal retails for $349.
