CEDIA (the Organization) Is Exactly What’s Wrong with Consumer Tech Today
Here’s a list of the current CEDIA Board of Directors.
Notice anything wrong? Yep, you got it — all dudes. No women.
How could this have happened? Is CEDIA so arrogant to think the the way to solve the world’s HomeAV problems is to have a group of dudes sitting around making decisions on how residential homeowners will integrate technology in the future — ignoring 50.5 percent of the U.S. population?
The recently ousted/resigned/whatever-happened-we-will-never-know CEDIA President and CEO Vin Bruno is a guy, too.
I am not even sure what to write here as this is wholly and completely ridiculous! WTF?
So, CEDIA just sent a press release announcing that nominations for the CEDIA board of directors will close on Monday, August 7 — this Monday. Please, please, please fix this. Go here and nominate a woman. NO MORE MEN.
Do I really need to explain why? How is it that no one else is talking about this?
Is this 1954?
