Have you upgraded to laser projection yet? It’s fondly called projector-heaven.

For years, the industry pundits said that FPD (flat panel displays) would beat-down the projection marketing into non-existence. Yet it never died. And according to the industry’s leaders — Epson,  NEC and Barco — projectors are hotter than every with two of the three selling more than every before in 2019, so far. And, they can all thank lasers. The no-lamp based projection market is bigger than ever with well over 85% of the currently-shipping models either laser or that other SSD technology, LED. So say goodbye to lamps.

And you should, too. Why, the truth is that if you take that projector you have installed right now and simply replace it with the SAME resolution box but just change to laser, the colorimetry improvement (the more reality-based color balance) will perceptually appear, to the human eye, as an improvement on resolution. But if you set-up the resolution at the same time, you’ll be in projector-heaven.

Don’t believe me? Well, have your local dealer do a laser-demo. I guarantee you that you’ll buy it!

+ This Is What Disruptive Looks Like [Christopher Jaynes]

A market that is growing at over 40% year over year will have some real implications to the workplace. That’s the thing about disruptive technologies – it was hard to see the social and economic impact the cellphone would have when the first “mobile car phone” was introduced. I do think the ability to share content to any display anywhere on demand will likely disrupt another fairly cumbersome market that sits right next door – video conferencing. It’s why I’ve become interested in video conferencing and how we work with remote participants – the disruptive story of wireless will definitely have impact there – stay tuned to see how.

+ The Most Dreaded Time of the Year [Scott Tiner]

I have worked in education for over twenty years. When August hits, we know that summer has ended for us. The pace picks up quickly as the days get closer to September and the level of anxiety begins to rise. By the end of the month, we are in an all out sprint. Will all our installs be done in time? Will our maintenance work get done in time? What about the training that has to happen with the new faculty and staff members that are coming on board. Max Goodwin, the head doctor from the NBC show "New Amsterdam" always asks his staff, "How can I help?" Now that we are into September, here are some ideas for firms who want to ask me that question and are looking to build some new business and relationships.
