This is a great read! Scott Tiner’s article on the impact of 5G, something that can’t be overstated, is golden. 5G has the potential, barring the government stepping in to slow it down, to change everything for everyone and I am sure you’ve read a plethora of articles on how the consumer will benefit. But, for the CE integrator, 5G is a change agent on many levels. I hope you’ll take the time to read it, below.

Speaking of a change-agent, did you notice that Extron recently launched a set of half-rack, eight-channel amplifiers? These are being hailed by the ProAV industry as #winners for everyone so those of you doing restaurants, bars and even giant homes, you should check out their new XPA Series of amps.

Oh, by the way, let me join many of you in congratulating Samantha Ventura and Ian Bryant for their promotion at CEDIA. Both are well deserved and needed as this industry continues to grow! Check out our story on both of them below.

Finally, how many of you are doing really cool holiday houses this winter? I WANNA SEE them! Send me links to any and all videos or social posts so we can feature them in rAVe! I’m at gary@ravepubs.com

+ Gantt Charts Are The Best Charts: Part 3 [Lee Distad]

With most projects, especially on longer, larger ones, reality will sometimes intrude and force a reassessment of the time and resources that have been allocated. There are two aphorisms that are applicable here. The first is that "the first casualty of every battle is the plan." The second is "every solution has two problems." Before going too deeply into that, let’s examine the two factors that go into allocating time to the projects tasks: estimating the necessary time and tracking the actual time required.

+ 5G and Wi-Fi 6: New Wireless Technologies Offer Advantages for AV [Scott Tiner]

Two new wireless technologies are offering potentially important advantages for the audiovisual industry. 5G and Wi-Fi 6 have slowly become released and used over the past year. These technologies will both continue to spread in 2020 and beyond.
