Kickin’ Off With rAVe [TV]
What better way to start off another great day of rePLAY 2021 than with an episode of rAVe [TV]? We wouldn’t have it any other way. Your favorite pair, Steph and Gary, took to the studio to discuss all the latest and greatest AV news. Steph detailed her thoughts about InfoComm Day One, and you can read the article she wrote about her experience here. Though she failed her CTS exam this time (by only a few points!), she’s determined to get it next time. Make sure to cheer her on for her next attempt! Gary and Steph also showed off rAVe’s totally cool InfoComm 2021 TikTok video! We’re up to date on all the social media platforms, of course.

rePLAY 2021 Day 2 was packed with more footage from the InfoComm 2021 show floor! Some of the videos for this day showed new audio software from Axis Communications, Carbon Black’s projection screens demoed by Nationwide Video, fiberoptic cables for virtual reality from FiberCommand, an LG modular transparent OLED from Bi-Search International, mic truck mounts from IO Audio Technologies and so many more! Another video showed a quick interview with Gary Kayye and John Sheehan and Betsy Larson from Sharp NEC Display, and you can see them all on the rePLAY 2021 page.

Unscripted Conversations
Throughout the day, both Megan and Steph had a couple of unscripted conversation sessions with special guests on the show. Those conversations were with Jason Ward and Iffat Chaudhry of Involve Visual Collaboration, Sharath Abraham of AVI-SPL, Mark Coxon of HD Distributing, LLC (and a rAVe Blogsquad writer), Hailey Klein of PSNI Global Alliance, Michael Katz of Zignage, Alexis La Broi of Production Resource Group and Charmaine Torruella of Verrex.
The conversations touched on the lives of these AV industry pros. They each discussed how 2021 has treated them so far, their time at InfoComm 2021 (if they got to go), their predictions for future markets in AV and much more.

Planar and the MicroLED Push
Planar is shipping microLEDs! In the words of Gary, Planar is one of the coolest microLED companies in the world, and what’s even cooler — the company has LEDs in stock! Those are words we don’t take lightly these days. Gary was joined by Jeremy Sternhagen of Planar to get a detailed look at new products. This year, the company launched its DirectLight Ultra Series of fine pitch LED video wall microLEDs. This product offers a 1.2-pitch LED product that utilizes offboard electronics and processing. The new and improved LEDs offer brighter images, lower power consumption and better black space image quality and contrast.
Planar also showed off its Video Controller 1U processor. It offers HDMI 2.0 and four inputs and can be stacked for more. It also has a remote power supply. The updated processor improves the DirectLight Ultra’s brightness and performance. The rest of this session is a great educational opportunity for LED technology, so you don’t want to miss it.
