So it seems like we’ve talked … and talked … and talked about the return-to-work phenomenon. I’ve even done research and presented on some data I found about what millennials want in a work environment now that we’re discovering what these plans will be. The point here is — every office is different. If you’re looking for a one-size-fits-all approach to the “nEw NoRmAl” it doesn’t exist. So what can we do? Read Mark Coxon’s article for more.

In the second feature of today, I attended ISE’s press briefing last week and I wrapped up all the information in this column! If you’re attending ISE but haven’t registered yet, you can use our code “CMREGGII” for a free exhibit hall pass! Also, whether you’re attending ISE or staying at home this year, be sure to attend ISE rePLAY! We will have two versions of the event, each on May 18, but each curated for your time zone! Find out more here.

Also, if you’re attending InfoComm — be sure to register using the code “RAVE” for a free exhibit hall pass also!

Finally, nominations for the readers’ choice awards are open!! Click on the link under awards and nominate all your favorites!

Have a good weekend!

COLUMNS

+ Rethinking Space [Mark Coxon]

If there's one topic that has been totally exhausted and "overthunk" in the last year, it's the post-COVID return to work. I don't say that because it's unimportant; I say that because most of the pieces we see written try to draw some new one-size-fits-all conclusion to what the… gulp… "new normal" will, or should, be. The problem with that is we have moved into the experience age, and experiences are very dependent on the people experiencing them — and those people aren't the same at every organization.

+ Expectations for ISE 2022: Press Briefing and More [Steph Beckett]

This year’s ISE Show arrives in Barcelona on 10-13 May 2022. Speaking at a press briefing last week, Integrated Systems Events managing director, Mike Blackman, said: “I’m delighted, and honoured, to be standing here today five years since Integrated Systems Events, and its co-owners AVIXA and CEDIA, decided to relocate the Integrated Systems Europe show to Barcelona. After 16 years in Amsterdam, it was time for us to find a new home for our show, and in just two weeks’ time, ISE 2022 will open its doors at the Gran Vía, Fira de Barcelona.”
