Good day, #AVtweeps, and a happy start of the week to you all.
We wanted to use this space to give you an update on the latest status for Digital Signage Expo (DSE) 2020 in light of COVID-19 coronavirus, as you may be wondering whether the annual trade show — planned for March 31-April 3 in Las Vegas — will take place as planned. On February 28, 2020, we provided coverage (see link below) on DSE’s initial announcement, which, at the time, was made when there had not been an outbreak of the virus in the United States. Now that that has changed, we wanted to bring you the latest.
From the show organizers of DSE as of Thursday, March 5 — the show will go on … for now. Here’s a snippet of DSE’s updated statement (not altered): “You’ve probably heard about some event cancellations, but they are few in number. The vast majority of trade shows are staging as planned. SISO (Society of Independent Show Organizers) and UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) have just jointly launched our industry’s own PR campaign to support trade shows. The theme is ‘THIS SHOW IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS.’ Yes it is, yes we are. DSE will stage as planned. See you in Las Vegas!” If you'd like a copy of the full announcement, email us or Digital Signage Expo — the update was provided via a DSE email and has not yet been posted on the Digital Signage Expo website.
