Xyte has published its 2025 midyear AV Cloud Data Report, highlighting trends in open standards, cloud-native platforms and scalable service delivery in the AV industry.
The report draws on aggregated data from Xyte’s Connect+ platform and insights gathered through surveys and interviews with AV professionals at industry events, including InfoComm 2025 and the AV Cloud Summit earlier this year. Xyte launched its OpenAV Cloud initiative at the spring summit alongside partners such as BrightSign, Shure, Legrand AV, Panasonic and Sony Electronics.
According to the report, AV professionals are prioritizing tools that support unified monitoring and scalable support without increasing operational workloads. Platform data from Xyte indicated that although device environments grew substantially, the average number of incidents per device declined — suggesting increased efficiency in managed service models.
The findings also reflect growing interest in open cloud architecture. Among the key data points:
- 86% of AV professionals said open APIs are critical or necessary
- 84% expressed a preference for open systems over proprietary ones
- Cloud connectivity is becoming a deciding factor in hardware procurement
Xyte, which positions itself as “the cloud AV company,” said the report reflects a broader shift in the industry toward interoperability and service-based infrastructure.
