What Happened at ISC West 2023
Last week, ISC West was held at the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas, NV. The show is designed for security professionals looking to expand their networks and explore cutting-edge products, technologies and solutions. As AV professionals often crossover into this market segment with command and control rooms and various government installations, the rAVe [PUBS] team attended the show for the first time in 2023.
“We really have a good opportunity to meet with some of our leadership here and then also take some of our partners through our new product releases,” said Clint Choate, sr. director of adjacent market/ channel expansion at Snap One, who exhibited at the show. “As we expand more and more into the security marketing, it’s just a great show to be a part of.”
Audio Solutions at ISC West 2023
On the show floor, we spotted many familiar pro audio companies displaying their latest solutions.
At ISC West, AtlasIED debuted two new audio additions to its IPX family of IP-enabled loudspeakers; the speakers were not on display at the booth, but will be demonstrated at InfoComm 2023.
“These new products really reinforce our commitment to the security industry,” said Gina Sansivero, VP of marketing and corporate communications, AtlasIED. “We’ve added two passive loudspeakers, the IP-12SYSP and IP-22SYSP, to the IPX family; both solutions are installer-friendly, suspended ceiling-mount 8-ohm loudspeakers designed to integrate with existing IPX Family of IP endpoints.”

Biamp also exhibited at ISC West and had a focus on speech privacy. The company also showed off its Vocia line of decentralized network-based paging solutions.
“This [the Vocia product] is a very flexible paging solution where all you really need is a single input and a single output,” said Daryl Nishimiya, field sales engineer, West, at Biamp. “Yet, it’s so flexible that I can keep adding components to this product, whether it’s a single installation or a phased installation over many years.
TOA Electronics also had some new audio solutions on display at ISC West, including its new series of IPA speakers. One of the new solutions, the IP-A1PC580S, is a PoE-powered surface mount speaker with a built-in 8W amplifier and internal data storage for up to 20 audio files. It supports SIP protocol for flexible integrations with VoIP devices, and its 20 multicast ports are available for group paging operations.
AI Solutions at ISC West 2023
ISC West was filled with artificial intelligence (AI)-based solutions, many of which had applications beyond security installations.
IntelliSee, for example, offered an AI-overlay for existing security cameras. The company was named Overall Winner at the 8th Annual Excellence in Product Innovation Awards presented by the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA). “There’s no reasons for our customers to upgrade to new hardware,” said Charles Richardt, regional sales manager, IntelliSee. “As long as it’s IP-based, we can overlay on it. We turn those cameras from being reactive and forensic-only to a proactive, instant alert mechanism.”
EPIC iO DeepInsights
While not on the show floor, EPIC iO had a meeting room in the Venetian where they were able to individually discuss with customers what they are doing with the power of AI. By using DeepInsights, the company’s open AI platform, public sector and private enterprises can extract and intelligently generate and analyze IoT data — and they’re looking for integration partners to join them.
“We just kicked off the security integrator channel within our company because we saw the need based off what the security integrators bring to the market and what we do around AI and all of our IoT solutions,” said Tami Booth, chief commercial officer, EPIC iO.
