Vaddio Ships Plenum-Rated USB 3.0 Active Optical Cable

Vaddio just started shipping its plenum-rated USB 3.0 Active Optical Cable. Vaddio’s shielded Type C to Type A active optical fiber cable supports the full bandwidth of USB 3.0 and can be used to extend products up to 30 meters without additional hardware or external power. Since it is port-powered and does not utilize any repeater hubs or external power supply, the cable requires no external power source.

The cable is rated for USB SuperSpeed and carries up to 5 Gbps allowing for 4K, 30 Hz uncompressed video data transmission. And, it is compatible with Vaddio HuddleSHOT and other USB 3.0/3.1 devices, self-powered USB 3.0/3.1 hubs, and devices with external power supplies. It is not compatible with USB 2.0/USB 1.1 devices, however.

Its fiber optic and copper composite design resists EMI/RFI interference, is CMP plenum-rated, and UL, CE and FCC certified.
