Rotel has introduced the DX-3, a high-end headphone amplifier, preamplifier, and standalone DAC designed for audiophiles. Housed in a 215mm x 76mm x 247mm (8.5 in x 3 in x 9.75 in) chassis, the DX-3 supports a wide range of modern and legacy audio sources, including PC-USB (32-bit/384kHz) with DSD 4X support, coaxial and optical (24-bit/192kHz), wireless aptX HD and AAC Bluetooth, and RCA analog connections.
At its core, the DX-3 is powered by an ESS Sabre ES9028PRO 8-channel DAC, paired with a low-noise toroidal transformer, high-current drivers, and capacitors to deliver ultra-high-resolution sound with exceptional rhythm, timing, and soundstage accuracy. Volume control is managed by an audiophile-grade NJW1195A fully differential analog controller, providing precise 0.5dB step adjustments for optimal audio performance. To ensure minimal noise interference, the DX-3 features fully isolated analog and digital power supplies, along with custom-engineered low-pass filters and a fully balanced, fully differential signal path, reducing unwanted distortion.
Designed for versatility, the DX-3 supports a wide range of wired headphones, including high-, medium-, and low-impedance models, with user-selectable amplifier gain for a customized listening experience. Front-panel connectivity includes 4.4mm balanced and 6.35mm single-ended headphone jacks, offering convenient access for audiophiles seeking high-fidelity sound.
