Have You Downloaded the rAVe [NEWS] App Yet?

Earlier this month, we debuted — both in iOS (Apple) and Android formats — an all-new rAVe [NEWS] mobile phone and tablet app. Our last app was launched in 2012 so it was time to launch a new app and we focused on three things:

1) Simplicity: Our new app is designed to allow you to keep in touch with ALL the news we publish on all our websites quickly. With the new rAVe [NEWS] app, you now have instant access to all the news from our rAVePubs.com website as well as from any microsite we manage for trade shows like InfoComm, ISE, DSE and CEDIA. In addition, the app gives you access to everything: News, blogs, podcasts, videocassette and trade show videos — and you can search by category (e.g., house of worship news, digital signage news, ProAV news, HomeAV news, etc).

2) Compatibility: In 2012, well over 90 percent of our mobile (phone and tablet) website traffic was coming from iOS (Apple) devices. Now, we are seeing more Android traffic so we wanted to make an app that was for Android — but still maintain the same navigation and look on both formats. That wasn’t a simple task as the two operating systems are not alike — but we did it! And, best of all, they both work for tablets as well as phones!

3) Push: We have the ability — if you wish — to push breaking news to you. We only post breaking news about four or five times a year — it’s usually reserved for mergers, company buyouts, etc. — so we’d never abuse this feature. But, if you choose to accept “push” you will be the first person in your company that knows about every major news story in the industry.
