Harmonic has introduced new playout-to-delivery features for its VOS360 Media SaaS platform, designed to support broadcasters and live event producers with streamlined encoding, streaming, and broadcast delivery workflows. The solution now includes loop record, delay line, and hybrid cloud/on-premises deployment support to enhance operational flexibility.
Available via the VOS360 Media SaaS for cloud deployments and through VOS Media Software and the XOS Advanced Media Processor for on-premises setups, the new features provide a unified user experience. Automation tools, user interfaces, playlists, assets, and advanced graphics are shared across all deployment models. The playout-to-delivery capabilities are API-controllable and compatible with third-party automation systems.
Key updates include powerful loop record and delay line functionality. Loop record allows simultaneous recording and replay of live streams, improving both streaming and broadcast workflows. Broadcasters can use the built-in clip editor to trim recorded content for rapid replay. Delay line capabilities also enable time-adjusted playback, supporting use cases like time zone shifting.
Whether scheduling branded playout, originating linear channels, or recording live streams, Harmonic’s platform now offers a unified, flexible solution for cloud and on-premises environments.
