“Montgomery County wanted a very flexible space, and a system that provided scalability,” says Chris Lawson, regional vice president, Conference Technologies, Inc. “It was important for them to be able to add sources and displays, and push information to them in real time with low latency in any arrangement of video and data required. Choosing Terra enabled that. They previously had a fixed chassis system, meaning they were limited in their number of sources and where they could push that information. We added a lot more displays during the upgrade and Terra helped to deliver that flexibility.”
The primary EOC room now features a 12-channel video wall in a 2 by 6 array of Christie Extreme Series LCD displays, which replaced a 2 by 2 videowall. Flanking the adjacent walls are several Christie projectors. In addition, there are a several conference rooms, each with display technology ranging from a single display to four displays. The EOC also features a press area in a nearby building with a projector, four displays, podiums and microphones, allowing journalists to be briefed on the latest news. Christie’s Terra solution allows distribution of any source from the EOC to any desired room and/or display.
