Bolin announced expanded support for NDI 6 across its lineup of NDI-enabled cameras and decoders, now featuring full compatibility with Embedded Bridge. This includes the R9 series of indoor NDI PTZ cameras; the SD, EX, and EXU series of outdoor NDI PTZ cameras; and the EG40N NDI High Bandwidth and HX3 decoder.
Originally introduced with NDI 5.0 in June 2021, NDI Bridge is a free tool that allows users to connect NDI networks from different locations via the public internet, marking a significant advancement for remote production workflows. Traditional NDI Bridge functionality requires PCs running the Bridge software on each network—one operating in Host mode and others in Join mode—creating a two-way connection that links remote NDI infrastructures.
NDI 6 introduced Embedded Bridge, which eliminates the need for a PC running Bridge software on the remote network. This enhancement enables a remote NDI device to join an NDI Bridge Host directly, providing a bi-directional, encrypted connection that transmits video, audio and metadata to and from the NDI device.
