Velocity’s updated platform includes new VGW-HW hardware server gateways to serve multiple rooms with AV control, room scheduling and configuration/management of Atlona AV devices. With a single VGW-HW gateway serving numerous rooms, the Velocity System substantially reduces the cost of ownership compared to competitive AV control platforms (that require a separate processor per AV system or room).
The room capabilities of each Velocity hardware and software gateway are as follows:
The VGW-HW-3:
- AV control for up to three rooms
- Room scheduling for up to six rooms
- Device capability for up to 250 simultaneous IP connections.
The VGW-HW-10:
- AV control for up to 10 rooms
- Room scheduling for up to 20 rooms
- Device capability for up to 250 simultaneous IP connections
The VGW-HW-20:
- AV control for up to 20 rooms
- Room scheduling for up to 40 rooms
- Device capability for up to 500 simultaneous IP connections
The AT-VGW-SW:
- AV control for up to 20 rooms
- Room scheduling for up to 40 rooms
- Device capability for up to 500 simultaneous IP connections
- AT-VGW-SW installation can be expanded with one or more VRL-SW licenses. Each license provides AV control for one additional room, and room scheduling for two additional rooms.
Each Velocity System server gateway includes the following features:
- Setup and management from a web browser
- Simple configuration of AV control, room scheduling and AV devices with the interactions, flow, and visual elements of a web or mobile app GUI
- Velocity room scheduling system compatible with Google Calendar and Microsoft Office 365
- Centralized organization and management of Atlona AV device installations
- Includes Velocity Cloud Lite for remote configuration and management of AV control and room scheduling systems (no subscription required)
- Supports industry-standard, secure data communications, including IEEE 802.1x for hardware gateways
Here’s a video of the Velocity 2.0 that we shot at ISE 2020:
Velocity Systems will continue to leverage Velocity touch panels in 5.5-inch and 8-inch screen sizes, with the ability to manage room scheduling and systems control through intuitive, touch-screen-based GUIs. Additionally, Velocity Systems allow the use of BYOD (user-supplied mobile devices and desktop browsers) for AV system control. More information about VGW-HW and SW can be found here.
