Did Xyte Just Solve Every API Compatibility Issue You’ve Ever Had? This Is Awesome!

Xyte has announced the launch of Universal Device APIs, a new set of tools designed to simplify integration and management of connected devices across platforms.
The Universal Device APIs allow managed service providers (MSPs), third-party vendors, and in-house AV/UC teams to integrate, monitor, and manage Xyte-enabled devices through a single, secure API connection. The offering aims to address longstanding challenges related to incompatible or non-existent device APIs.
In Gary’s pre-InfoComm 2025 videocast with Xyte, VP of Sales Andrew Gross explains this:
Devices can be accessed through Xyte’s native connections — used by manufacturers such as Planar, Legrand AV, Wyrestorm and Symetrix — as well as through popular platforms including Zoom, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Biamp, Crestron and QSC.
According to Xyte, the Universal Device APIs offer several benefits:
- Broader market reach for manufacturers by supporting integration across a variety of IT and building management platforms.
- Lower integration costs and faster time to market by eliminating the need for custom development.
- Simplified maintenance through standardized, open APIs.
- Greater flexibility for AV/UC teams to adopt the solutions that best meet their needs without concerns over vendor lock-in.
- Future-proofing through adaptable, open integration standards.
Xyte’s Universal Device APIs are intended to act as middleware, allowing devices to communicate more easily with existing ticketing and monitoring systems as organizations move away from proprietary platforms.
