Congratulations to the AV Industry and especially the Women in AV!! Last Thursday, Dec.13th, we came together to celebrate our industry, share in the holiday spirit, and inspire each other at the first AV Holiday Party and WAVE Tweet Up. This was actually our second annual Tweet Up, but this year we built on our first success and made it into a full-blown industry-wide holiday party for both the women AND men in our industry. Our 2011 Tweet Up was equally incredible and you should read our recap here.
This year we had 13 cities across the country participating and it blew me away to watch and see the efforts everyone went through to put together their events. There was amazing food, decorations, and no limit spared to celebrate and inspire the women in our industry. Everyone tweeted their photos and shared the happiness you could see around the country on Twitter. You can see all the fun that was had for yourself here. If you have photos you’d like to share, please send them on email@example.com and we’ll get them posted!
Our special thanks to all the sponsors of our event for hosting, catering, and making this possible: Access Networks, Advanced AV,AMX, AV Girl Productions, Boeckler, Control Concepts, Contemporary Communications Consulting, Crestron, Da-Lite, FSR, KBZ, Kramer Electronics, Media Vision USA, Listen Technologies, Mary Meeker Design, Pivot Communications, Relampit, rAVe [Publications], Sapphire Marketing, Total Marketing, Vaddio, Verrex, and Visix.
And, none of this would have happened without the amazing coordination and work of your WAVE hostesses: Sara Abrons, Midori Connolly, Malissa Dillman, Victoria Ferrari, Sarah Fleishman, Erica Fox, Amy Fulton, Theresa Hahn, Darcy Harrell, Jane Johnson, Susan LaPoint, Mary Meeker, Christina Minihan, Kelly Perkins, Kristin Rector, Jan Sandri, Gina Sansivero, Cory Schaeffer, MarlaSuttenberg, and Jennifer Willard. We also owe a huge thank you to our very special WAVE hostess in D.C., AV Gent Don Palmer!! We always talk about how incredible the men in our industry our to support women, but Don stepping up to host his WAVE event was above and beyond.
You can see from the list of people above how so many people came together and worked hard to bring this all for everyone to enjoy themselves. Since founding WAVE in 2011, I have been blown away every time to see how generous and kind people in our industry are to support the women in our industry. And, this time was no different!!
THANK YOU all for an AMAZING Tweet Up and what I am sure will be twice as big next year!! All of our best wishes to everyone for the happiest and warmest of holidays!!
