THE #1 AV NEWS PUBLICATION. PERIOD.

InfoComm, InfoComm, InfoComm!

thegame-0613Well, here we are! Less than 24 hours before the InfoComm13 show floor opens and our AV industry lights up like New York Times Square!! Having been here since Sunday, I can tell you things have surely been steadily picking up. First and foremost, I want to send a HUGE shout-out to the crews of every exhibitor. These folks typically arrive Thursday or Friday and have been hard at work setting up non-stop. When we attendees walk in and see these beautiful booths featuring the latest technologies and products, we hardly give any thought to the fact that last week the Orange County Convention Center looked like an empty warehouse. Congrats to everyone, it’s amazing work what you do and all too often, it is overlooked just how much goes in to making it happen!!  I think next year we should have a new category of awards for the Best Road Crew!

The Women in AV are excited to be here for our second year!! The deep appreciation I have for everyone putting their show together also comes from knowing how CRAZY it is to pull this off. Even though it is only our second year, we are women. And, we obviously always want to step it up a notch!! This year we have two more SOLD-OUT events, we will be producing a WAVEcast for rAVe Radio, raising money for another incredibly worthy local women’s and children’s shelter, and will be available for you to meet us and learn how to get involved!

So, here’s the WAVE schedule to come meet us and learn how to get involved! But, you should check back often for updates and follow InfoComm 2013 OnDemand Powered by rAVe NOW for the latest coverage and ALL the show videos, blogs and breaking news that is sure to take place!

Oh, and if you don’t follow @WomeninAV on Twitter, you won’t be aware that WAVE is extremely excited to play rAVe’s THE GAME 4 during the show!! It blows me away to see all the prizes they will be giving away, including YES, an actual SMART Car!! My fellow rAVe BlogSquad member, Mark Coxon and I ~ and a few others, all seem to be pretty competitive about who is going to WIN!! You can play from home if you are not heading to Orlando and InfoComm Executive Director and CEO David Labuskes, CTS, RCDD will try to win on your behalf! Just be sure to fill out the form if you won’t be there and…. GAME ON!!!!

Come see us and get involved at the rAVe [Pubs] Booth in the Main Lobby (Look Right of the Show Floor Entrance!) at:

  • Wednesday, 6/12 from 10:30-11:45 a.m.
  • Thursday, 6/13 from 10:30-11:45 a.m.
  • Friday, 6/14 from 9:00-10:30 a.m.

We are for the second year supporting a local area women’s and children’s shelter and would be so grateful if you may want to contribute! As much as it is great to see the latest in technology, we also can’t forget that we walking into someone else’s home and they have much bigger challenges than we do.  Leaders from the Salvation Army Orlando Women’s and Children’s Shelter will be available to accept credit cards and you can also make checks out to: Salvation Army Orlando and place Women and Children Shelter in the Memo section. We hope you will join us in the worthy cause!

All my best wishes to everyone for a wonderful and fantastic #InfoComm13!! YOU have worked hard for and deserve the VERY best week!!
