Vivitek’s new HK2200 projector uses the new 4K-UHD DMD chip set (native 3840×2160 resolution) technology from Texas Instruments that’s designed to deliver Rec.709 color gamut space using DLP technology. Unique to Vivitek is a new ViviPeaking function, which refines surface details to improve detail accuracy for an optimal viewing experience. HDR compatibility also provides clarity and colorimetry. The HK2200 comes with color enhancer and skin tone optimizer functions, and the projector comes with ISF-ready calibration tools to fine tune the color result to its best.
The HK2200 has two HDMI v2.0 inputs, supports a USB multimedia viewer and a wireless mirroring function and it is also Chromecast-ready. It offers the option to use external wireless casting equipment and powers it with the USB port from the projector. Additionally, the HK2200 features a 12v trigger function for external device control, such as activating a screen or a sound system when turning the projector on.
The HK2200 will be available from mid-November with a list price, including VAT, of £1,399. Here are detailed specs on the Vivitek HK2200.
