VIA Launches New Vtric Active Optical Cable Brand
VIA Technologies today announced the launch of the Vtric Active Optical Cable brand. Initially, three Vtric products will be available — all fiber-optic based cables for high-resolution applications: HDMI 1.4 10m AOC, HDMI 2.0 10m AOC and USB 3.0 10m AOC for $139, $229 and $239 respectively.
Vtric Active Optical Cables are spec’d for bandwidth up to 18Gbps for the HDMI 2.0 model. VIA SprintStream technology claims to boost cable performance via low attenuation and reduced electromagnetic interference. All the connectors have gold-plated connectors.
