Update to Crestron Pyng OS Adds Support for Video
Crestron announced the upcoming release of Crestron Pyng OS 2. Built into the new CP3-R 3-Series Control System, a enterprise-grade control system for residential applications that’s shipping in September, Crestron Pyng OS 2 supports full integration of video control and distribution including Crestron DigitalMedia products, AVRs, local sources, set-top boxes, remote controls and more.
The new rack-mountable CP3-R runs on Crestron Pyng OS 2, and has the advanced operating system “baked in.” The CP3-R includes a full complement of control ports to handle any sized home automation project, home theater, multi-room video or MDU application. It integrates best-in-class Crestron hardware including audio, video, lighting, motorized shades, climate control, door locks, sensors and other equipment.
Crestron Pyng OS 2 makes it possible to set up and deploy luxury home automation on any scale in a fraction of the time of traditional methods. All it takes is a few simple steps, right from an iPad tablet or online via the web application. No programming needed.
With support for powerful Cloud-based services, Crestron Pyng OS 2 enables integrators to configure, control and support clients’ systems remotely, saving time on-site and after deployment. Clients enjoy complete peace of mind knowing that resolution of any problem is just a phone call away.
Whether clients control their home through beautiful Crestron handheld remotes, keypads, and touch screens, or from mobile devices, the Crestron Pyng OS 2 user interface is love at first sight.
New functionality In Crestron Pyng OS 2 includes the ability to: define all video connections visually; control video and route sources; and group audio devices to play the same source (video grouping coming soon). Also included: TV presets for easy access to favorite TV channels, radio stations, movies and music; the ability to access third-party device drivers from the Cloud or load your own and handheld remote programming, just like keypad buttons.
