TrueConf Enters the Holographic Life-Sized Videoconferencing Market
TrueConf unveiled a 4K video conferencing box that enables the displaying of a life-sized, hologram of a speaker using TrueConf videoconferencing technologies and the IAORA screen with reflecting elements. Industry analysts forecast a 7,8% growth in the telepresence system market by 2033, which means that corporate communication and global business could see revolutionary changes.
The developers used TrueConf video conferencing technologies and the IAORA 4K UltraHD screen with reflecting elements that allowed creating a transparency effect of the box, enhancing a three-dimensional projection of a person. The company claims that a remote user simply needs good lighting, a chroma key, and a 4K camera connected to a PC running the TrueConf application which is used to transmit the video stream to the screen of the 2-meter-high box. TrueConf Server, an on-premises UC platform, is used as a connecting core among meeting participants, the box, and a remote speaker whose projection is displayed.
The effect of a live presence is achieved due to a new design — a 4K transparent screen is located on the back wall of the device, and it is equipped with special illuminated and mirrored elements inside.
